Exporting to the United States – a U.S. Customs Documentation seminar Tuesday, October 26th –7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Ontario Ministries of Economic Development and Trade, Northern Development, Mines and Forestry and theThunder Bay Chamber of Commerce are pleased to invite you to attend a seminar on Exporting to the United States – a U.S. Customs Documentation being held at theTravelodge Hotel Airlane inThunder Bay.

To remain competitive, exporters must minimize the risk of their goods being delayed at the US border. Ensuring that your shipment is properly documented is one of the most critical elements in achieving this goal. Yet, incomplete or poorly filled out documentation continues to be the number one reason cited by US Customs for delays or refused entry of goods. Knowing what documentation is required, what the rules are, and what your responsibilities are as importer of record are key to your success in ensuring the speedy and seamless delivery of goods to your customers.

Information on government programs and services to assist you in exporting will also be provided. The seminar will provide you with practical, hands-on information to help you understand the customs documentation required to clear your goods including:

• What is happening at the border, the role of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Customs Brokers and your responsibilities as the Importer of Record;

• Tariff classifications, Country of Origin, NAFTA and Record Keeping;

• U.S. Documentation Requirements plus an overview of some of the costs

• An overview of ACE, C-TPAT, PIP and other government acronyms

• An overview of some of costs such as duty rates, MPFs and Surety Bonds

The cost to attend is $35 per person. Pre-registration is required. Click to download & complete registration form or call the Thunder Bay Chamber at 807-624-2626.

Same address, but a brand new look!
