Through annual strategic planning, NODN has defined areas that accomplish regional economic development by providing annual and on-going action items, services or projects to our members. The following are a sampling of NODN's 2007-2008 action items. 1) Training/Education/Professional Development:
Access to community economic development training
Knowledge based economy understanding workshop development and delivery
providing funding forum coordination and knowledge
Creation of a Northwestern Ontario Ambassador forum/business linkage
First Nation funding services and awareness
Training opportunities delivery through private business partnership related to
Economic Development
2) Communication/Networking/Membership:
Regional source of relevant community development information
Trade and commerce economic development regional hub publication
AGM and Spring Meetings
Conference and networking development
3) Pan-Northern/Northwestern Ontario Involvement
Northwest Midwest Alliance NMA project becoming the exporting resource for
Northwestern Ontario
Continued partnership and dissemination of opportunities through partnerships like the
